Obituary of Margarete Allen Hamm

Margarete Hamm (nee Allen), 59, passed away June 12, 2015, at her home after a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. Margarete was born in Mainz, Germany, and had been a resident of Lake County for most of her adult life. She was a graduate of Mundelein High School and had retired from Allstate Insurance Co. after 42 years of service. Margarete was an avid reader, a proficient bowler and loved vacationing in Florida. She is survived by her son, Travis (Dawn) Hamm; her grandson, Wyatt Hamm; her brothers, Jim (Lynn) Allen and Glenn (Kathy) Allen; her nephews, Josh (Shanna) Allen, Jacob Allen, Jared Allen and David Allen; her great-nephews, Jackson Allen and Owen Warwick; and her significant other, Michael Lois. Margarete was preceded in death by her niece, Jennifer Warwick. Her family will receive friends Saturday, June 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, Ltd., 101 Park Place (Route 176, one block east of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville, with the service at 3 p.m. If desired, memorial donations made to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
