Obituary of Patrick Lundy

Patrick A Lundy, 81, US Air Force retired, of Libertyville, passed away Saturday July 4, 2015 in Libertyville. Pat was born in Chicago in 1934 and after high school joined the US Army overseas. After college, he enlisted and rose through the ranks with the US Air Force, serving over 20 years. Pat was a dedicated man who devoted over 40 years with Allstate as a claims examiner. For the past 37 years, he has called Libertyville home and enjoyed mass with his wife, Rhoda, at Marytown. He is remembered as an avid bicyclist and loved working on his garden. Pat is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Rhoda; his adored children Laura (Jeff Branit) Lundy and Jennifer (Scott) Sender; his cherished grandchildren Alex, Daniel, Nicholas and Jack Sender; loving sister Alyce (Daniel) Whitney and brother Leonard (Barb) Lundy; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Patrick Lundy and brother John Martin Lundy. Visitation for Pat will be from 4-8 pm Wednesday July 8th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place (Rt 176, 1 Block East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 am Thursday July 9th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Interment with military honors to follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
