Charles "Chuck" Neville, 79, of Libertyville, passed away April 13 at Advocate Condell Med. Ctr. He will be remembered by many as an ardently devoted Chicago Cubs fan. Chuck was born in Oak Park, IL and moved to Libertyville in the late 1950’s where he and his wife Gerrie founded Libertyville Tile Co. Chuck was a dedicated volunteer, serving in many capacities in Libertyville. Mayor Charles Brown appointed Chuck to the Park and Recreation Commission where he served in that unpaid position for 12 years and eventually became the first Libertyville Superintendent of Parks and Rec. Later, he began another business of property development in the Libertyville and Grayslake area. Even with all of this happening, Chuck always found time along with other members of the Knights of Columbus, to collect and distribute food for the needy of Lake County. Through his efforts, he made Libertyville a better place to live. He is survived by his wife Gerrie (nee Hojem); his children Debbie (Carl) Drake, Kathy Neville, Kevin (Jan) Neville, Darlene (Kent) Yandell and Arlene (Dave) Rose; 13 grandchildren Rachel, Stephanie &Tony (Farrell) Drake, Travis, Carly & Corbin Neville, Jack, Laine, Claire & Scott Yandell and Eric (Danielle), Haley & Andrew Rose; 6 great-grandchildren; his sisters Maryann (the late Edward) Lesner, & Patsey (the late Tom) McDonald; his brother-in-law Glenn (Peggy) Hojem and many nieces and nephews.
