Richard "Dick or Blackie" William Blackburn passed into eternal rest on the evening of January 6, 2013, husband of Jeanne Blackburn and father of Courtney Drew Blackburn Hoffmann. Dick was born November 16, 1936 in Chicago, IL, a son of the late Richard William Blackburn Sr. and Thera Hilding Blackburn. He attended Senn High School and then attended Coe College in Iowa receiving a Philosophy Degree. He worked for Harris Bank and Shay Financial Services for most of his career. Dick is survived by his wife Jeanne; daughter, Courtney; and 2 grandchildren, Maya Hoffmann and Evie-Hellen Hoffmann. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the remembrance ceremony Friday, January 11, 2013, at 4:00 PM. at McMurrough Funeral chapel, 101 Park Place Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00-5:00 PM. The family will receive friends at Jeanne Blackburn's home in Libertyville between 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
