Obituary of Michael D. Barrett Sr.

Michael Dennis Barrett Sr., 82, US Army, of Libertyville, passed away September 24, 2017. Michael was a Georgetown University graduate and was a resident of Libertyville for over 50 years. He is remembered for business accomplishments both with Monsanto and his own startup company Evsco.  Michael was a family man and was very proud of their own success in life. His favorite passions were playing golf, fishing, being with his much-loved dogs, telling stories, watching classic movies, and cheering on his Chicago Bears with friends and family.

Michael is survived by his wife of 60 years Ann (nee Gates); his children Michael (Patrice) Barrett Jr., Libbie (Frank) Wallace, Jennifer (Larry) Lombardo, Susan (Ron) Barrett and Erin Barrett; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be 10am Friday Sept. 29th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville with a 30 minute visitation prior to Mass. Military honors will follow Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to Wounded Warriors www.woundedwarriorproject.org would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements by McMurrough Funeral Chapel (847) 362-2626.
