We had the privilege to meet Dotty a few times and felt her kindness, sincerity and love immediately. We knew her through stories shared with reverence and through those same qualities exemplified in her children. I recall Dotty as having a twinkle in her eye, a sweet smile and kind words for everyone. She was such a wonderful example of what it means to be a mother. We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved mama.

I’m so thankful our grandchildren had such a wonderful Grandmama and because of her their Dad has tought them by example how to appreciate and show your Mother how much she is loved. He not only spoke so highly of her but never failed to visit even when it wasn’t convenient. Because of that they gave their boys the gift of knowing their gransparents. That brings joy but also much sorrow and our hearts ache for the family who grieve today.

Dear ones, so sorry for your loss. I have some sweet memories of Dorothy when we were younger. She was always smiling and cheerful! She was very pretty and a real southern lady. Her laugh was very cheerful! I was younger (very little) but I always looked up to her as a very good example to us who were younger. You can be comforted that she knew our Father and has gone to her reward. Thinking of you all with love and hugs!

Sincere sympathy to Charles and Emma Jean, Bryan; and to all of the extended families. Dorothy is a very fond memory of my childhood, growing up in NC. With her quiet spirit and her soft, endearing smile she was a steady presence at all family gatherings.
After she and Brian moved, we lost contact; and I realize now what a loss it was. We will always remember her with gladness in our hearts.
