Obituary of Arthur Venturi
Arthur Venturi, 83, a lifelong resident of Lake County, passed away on January 24, 2025 while pursuing one of his many adrenaline-fueled sports, snowmobiling, in Northern Wisconsin. Born to Joseph and Mary Venturi (nee Vai), Art graduated from St. James School in Highwood and Highland Park High School. He dedicated over 40 years to Commonwealth Edison, retiring from a management position. His lifelong passion started at a young age with drag racing, snowmobiling, boating and sport fishing on Lake Michigan and Florida. Retirement allowed him to continue to pursue his passion for motorsports including many cross country RV trips to motorcycle in Florida, Arkansas and Arizona, and his favorite, 20 continuous years to Sturgis South Dakota.
Art was known for his active lifestyle and his fascination with the mechanics of his machines, always seeking to improve their performance. He made friends easily, eager to learn from others and generously sharing his own knowledge. A skilled rider, he knew all the best backroads and hole in the wall restaurants along the way. An adrenaline enthusiast, he loved pushing boundaries. He meticulously maintained his many "toys," spending countless hours ensuring everything was in showroom condition, inside and out (down to the tire treads). Art brought joy to those around him and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Sandy; his daughters, Tammy Cason (Russ) and Tracy Venturi-Nindl (Mike); his grandchildren, Shannon, Nick, Trent, Mason, and Trevor; and his great-grandchildren, Dakota, Aiden, and Mya. He was preceded in death by his parents.
