Obituary of Fred Schwoerer

Fred Schwoerer, 87, longtime Libertyville resident, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025. Fred was born in Bloomington and married the love of his life Elizabeth at St. Mary church in Bloomington. He graduated from Illinois State University with a teaching degree and continued his education receiving a Masters in Mathematics from Drake University. Fred had a successful 30+ year career as an educator teaching all levels of Mathematics at Libertyville High School and the College of Lake County simultaneously while raising his family.  Fred was handy at fixing things around the house and even started his own company S4 construction working along his children teaching them skills along the way. Fred rarely stood still and was an active dad in his children’s lives volunteering for their sport events through all their activities. He loved being in the outdoors some of his favorite places were fishing in upper Wisconsin. Fred was much loved and will be dearly missed.

Fred is survived by his wife Elizabeth of 59 years of marriage; his children Ronald, Margaret, Michael, Ann (Charles) Udell, Angie (Brian) Pascarelli and Anton; his grandchildren Elizabeth Klipp, Nicholas, Emily and Eliann Udell and Maximilian Schwoerer; his sister Antoinette (William) Bartosik and many nieces and nephews. Fred is preceded in death by his daughter Rose Berry and his sister Nancy Kohler.

Visitation for Fred will be from 2:00 – 6:00 pm on Sunday March 30th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday March 31st at St. Mary Church, 527 W Jackson St, Bloomington, IL 61701 with interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bloomington.
