Obituary of Thomas P. Morrison

Thomas P. Morrison, 86, of Libertyville, formerly of Homewood, IL, passed away Oct. 12, 2023 peacefully at his home. Born September 5, 1937, the devoted son of Thomas Joseph and Margaret (nee Byrne) Morrison.  Tom grew up on the southside of Chicago graduating from Holy Cross Grammar School (1951), Leo High School (1955) and DePaul University (1959).  He served in the US Marine Corps Reserve. Tom had a long successful career in the insurance industry with Allstate Insurance and Pilot Catastrophe Services. 

Tom is survived by his beloved wife Marcia (nee Linton) of 62 years; his loving children Eileen (Joseph) Santschi; T.J. (Clare), Patti (Kevin) O’Donnell, Emmet (Suzan) and Megan (Jason) Komenda; his adoring grandchildren Elizabeth (Timothy), Matthew (Brittany), Nora, Fiona, Ava, Jack, Margaret, Grace, Emma, Kate, Thomas, and Maeve; his cherished great-grandchildren Owen and Jack; dearest sister-in-law Linda Evens; and his nieces and nephews.

Tom loved golfing, Notre Dame football - especially tailgating - and traveling with his wife Marcia.  He was an avid reader of murder mysteries and a lifelong White Sox fan.  A son of Irish immigrants, Tom was proud of his heritage. Tom nurtured a deep faith in God and his dedication to the Catholic Church was exemplified through his active volunteerism. Tom leaves a profound void in the lives of his family, as well as the countless friends he gathered throughout his rich and meaningful journey. His memory will be cherished, and his legacy will endure.

Funeral Mass for Tom will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday October 17th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville and also via livestream. Interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Monday Oct. 16th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville.
