Obituary of Michele A Garrity

In loving memory of Michele Anne Garrity, born on Oct 26th, 1957, and peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Jan 24th, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Michele, a devoted mother to Keith and daughter-in-law Renee, showcased intelligence, humor, and kindness throughout her life. She was an exemplary businesswoman, dedicating many years to Fansteel as the marketing director alongside her father and brother.

Michele’s pursuit of knowledge led her to earn both a master’s degree and Ph.D. during her successful career, which allowed her to travel the world and experience diverse cultures. Her warmth, generosity, and positive impact on others made her an extraordinary friend, leaving behind cherished memories for those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Survived by her son Keith, daughter-in-law Renee, granddaughter Rhiannon, sister Susan, and brother Daniel. Michele’s passing has created a void that will be felt deeply by those who loved her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb 3rd, at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville 60048. The wake will commence at 10:00 am, followed by the service at 1:00 pm. The funeral will take place afterward at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, 1920 W Buckley Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048. Refreshments and food will be available during the service as we gather to remember and honor Michele’s remarkable life.
