Obituary of Judy Lea Davis

Please share a memory of Judy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judy Lea Davis, 71, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024. Judy is survived by her loving sister (Jean Banick), brother-in-law (Donald Banick), nieces (Tara Banick and Trina Banick), and sister J. Alexandra Davis. She is preceded in death by her mother Effie Davis and father E. N. Davis.

Judy was born in Waukegan, IL. She was a graduate of Zion Benton High School, and later Carthage College in Wisconsin. She started working at Abbott Laboratories in 1971, retiring from Hospira after a long career, where she made dear friends and enjoyed her work. Judy was a lifelong lover of visual arts and a talented self-taught artist, with some of her paintings being displayed in the assisted living facility where she lived for several years. She had a green thumb and always managed to keep her many potted flowers and plants thriving. Judy also loved to crochet, making scarves and hats for her friends. She loved animals and adored the three chihuahua dogs she had during her lifetime.

Judy was a devoted Christian and member of the Kenosha Church of Christ. A private memorial service will be held at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
