Obituary of John Joseph Offner

John Joseph Offner, of Libertyville, Korean War Veteran, passed away April 12, 2016. Mr. Offner had retired from Sportmart, Inc where he had served as Vice President of purchasing. Mr. Offner was a devout Catholic and was a dedicated follower of CNN and Fox News. One of his proudest memories was throwing out the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs game in the late 1980’s. John loved his children dearly and was proud of the adults they became. John was the devoted husband of Judy nee Barbee; the loving father of Margaret Offner, John Offner and Robert (Rebecca) Offner; the proud grandfather of Jordan, Mara and Kyle Offner; the dearest brother of Francis (Genevieve) Offner; and the dear uncle of Suzanne and Phillip Offner. Funeral Services will be Sunday April 17 at 6:00 pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl (Rt 176, 1 Blk East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville where there will be a visitation from 2:00 pm until the time of service. Interment with full military honors will be at Abraham Lincoln Nat. Cem. Elwood, IL.
