Roland Sachs, Sr., 71, of Palatine, passed away suddenly July 9, 2016 at his home. Mr. Sachs was born in Czechoslovakia and was presently employed by Schenker Logistics. Roland was a proficient gardener and extremely proud and devoted grandfather. Survivors include his sons Roland (Mary Irene nee Laidley) Sachs, Robert (Amy) Sachs and Ryan Sachs; his grandchildren Kayla, Jack, Will, Andrew and Emilee and his siblings Lilly, Horst, Inga, Walter, Hilmar and Irene. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM Monday July 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Interment Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Visitation Sunday July 17 from 3 – 6 PM at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place (Rt 176, 1 Blk East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, an educational fund for Roland’s grandchildren has been established at Libertyville Bank & Trust. Envelopes for that purpose will be available at the funeral chapel.
