Obituary of Clarence W. Rose
Clarence W. Rose, 83, formerly of Chicago, Midlothian, Berkeley and Woodridge, passed away on Saturday, June 25th after a courageous eight-year battle in which he recovered from major aortic surgery and also severe COVID-19 in late 2020.
Clarence was the beloved husband of the late Josephine M. Rose and loving father of three sons, Robert, David and Michael as well as proud grandfather to six grandchildren. Clarence, or “Babe” as he was affectionally known, was the youngest of four sons of Clarence and Anna Rose of Chicago. He is also predeceased by his brothers Kenneth, Alan and Roy Rose.
Clarence is also predeceased by his long-time beloved partner and companion, Nirrie Palomino and was loved and cherished by her family including daughters Patricia and Theresa and their families.
Clarence served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963 and was proud of his military service at Fort Bragg, NC as part of a Cannon Artillery Unit. He was a long-time employee of Container Corporation of America/Jefferson Smurfit and was involved as a union steward for most of his employment with Container.
Visitation for Clarence will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday July 8th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville and Saturday July 9th from 10:00 – 11:00 am followed by a funeral service at the funeral home.
