Obituary of Vera Dolan

Vera Dolan, 71, a longtime Waukegan resident, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2023. Vera graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Chicago and DePaul University. Vera built a successful insurance business in Libertyville, Vera Insurance Agency, that she ran for 30 years. Outside of work, Vera was a woman of many talents, including knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint.  She had a fondness for sweets, and there was never a baked good that she didn’t love. In addition to her creative pursuits, Vera loved spending time at the beach, listening to the waves, and soaking up the sun. She also loved murder mystery movies and books, which kept her sharp and entertained in her downtime. Vera will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, unwavering work ethic, and love for life. She was a role model to many, and her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched.

Vera is survived by her beloved husband Larry of 47 years; her loving daughter Laurene; and her dearest brother Val (Christine) Perovich. She is preceded in death by parents Vukasin and Milka Perovich and her siblings Vjera and Vlastimir who died as young children in WWII concentration camps.

Visitation for Vera will be from 4:00 – 7:00 pm on Friday March 24^th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 am on Sat. March 25^th at the funeral home followed by interment at Ascension Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to Fat Cat Rescue, P.O.
