Obituary of Philip Ruedig
Philip John Ruedig, born November 15, 1928, in Evanston, IL was a lifelong resident of the north shore of Chicago. He passed away peacefully in Lincolnshire, IL on April 24th, 2023.
At 94 years his life contained more than most could ever dream of. He was the younger of the two boys, and enjoyed summers at Lake Mills Wisconsin. Phil met his wife Anne at the age of 17. She was his first date and his sweetheart for the rest of his life. As a young man he served in the Korean War. After his service he attended Butler University followed by earning an MBA at Wharton School of Business. His education lead to a long successful career in starting and running a worldwide Flavoring business. Phil and Ann raised their five children on the North Shore where they loved to entertain their many friends and business associates. Phil attended the children’s school functions to include Baseball, Soccer and Tennis matches. Phil’s hobbies included aviation flying airplanes, playing jazz piano, golf, tennis, and traveling the world. His wife was at his side on most adventures including the addition of 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Phil’s love for Anne continued as he spent several years as primary care giver for Anne’s Alzheimer’s disease. Phil joins his wife Anne of 52 years, his deceased son Bruce (Therese), his loving children Brad (Stacey), son Brian, and twin daughters Laura Metz (Bob) and Amy Poyo (Bob).
