Obituary of Larry Kavanagh III

John Lawrence "Larry" Kavanagh, 82, passed away on May 13th, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born on January 7th, 1941 in Chicago, IL to John Lawrence II and Evelyn (Romanecki) Kavanagh.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara (Giandalia) Kavanagh.

 

He was an avid golfer, veteran, beloved grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.  He will be remembered for his corny jokes, love of sports, one-dollar bets, and always being the life of the party.

 

He is also survived by his daughter Lisa (Dan) Jazo, his sons John (Pam) Kavanagh and Peter Kavanagh. His grandchildren MaClayn and Cooper Jazo; Teagen and Kye Kavanagh; and Emmie Mae.  His siblings Tom (Mary Beth) Kavanagh and Maurita “Dee” (Norbert) Bora.

 

He is preceded in death by his sister Joyce Prestin and brother Michael (Linda) Kavanagh.

 

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, May 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel in Libertyville, IL followed by a luncheon starting at 1:00 p.m. at Jimmy’s Charhouse at 1413 Peterson Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048
