Obituary of Marion Catherine Grinnell

Marion Catherine Grinnell, 90, longtime Mundelein resident, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2023. Marion was a lifelong resident of Lake County, was born and raised in Fremont Township on their family farm and graduated from Grayslake High School. She completed her nursing degree and went on to have a successful 40 year nursing career at Condell Medical Center and the Winchester House.  She was talented in the kitchen is fondly remembered for her delectable cookies and turtle brownies.  She remained active in her community volunteering for the Grayslake Historical Society. She enjoyed tending to her garden, shopping trips, and taking vacation trips with her husband Clint. Marion was devoted to her faith and was a lifelong parishioner of St Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church.

Marion is survived by her loving children William (Malia) Grinnell, Susan Grinnell (Jeffrey) Quint, Catherine Grinnell, Michael (Laurie) Grinnell and Mark Grinnell; her adoring grandchildren Michael Grinnell, Rebecca Grinnell, James Quint, Justin Grinnell, Jordyn Ashley Grinnell, and Brandon, Shelby and Mikayla Grinnell; her great-grandchildren, her dearest sister Laverne and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Clint, and her siblings Joseph, Ralph, Esther and Rose.

Funeral services will be held at the Victory Lakes Chapel at 9:30am on Saturday May 20th at the Village of Victory Lakes, 1075 E E Victory Dr, Lindenhurst, IL 60046. With a reception to follow. Interment will be private at St. Mary Cemetery in Freemont Center.  In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the Salvation Army at https://www.salvationarmyusa.org/ or the Village of Victory Lakes Employee Fund, 1075 E E Victory Dr, Lindenhurst, IL 60046.
