Obituary of Dorothy M. Connolly

Dorothy M Connolly, age 100, passed away on May 1, 2024.  She was a registered nurse and served with the Army Nurse Corps in WWII, meeting her husband in an Army hospital.  She continued nursing and also raised six children.  Dorothy was an avid golfer and also worked diligently on her health at the Centre Club in LIbertyville.  She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church since 1948.

Dorothy was married to Charles L Connolly, Jr., who predeceased her.  Her children are Larry, Bob, Patrick (deceased), Mary (deceased), Sheila, and Tom.  Her grandchildren are Amy Held, Sean Connolly, Kari Bleggi, Kristi Cann, Erin Sweeney, Ben Connolly, Sarah Connolly, Nicholas Connolly, Manju Connolly, and Gita Connolly.  Her great-grandchildren are Jack, Cole, and Kira Sweeney; Brynn and Braelyn Bleggi; Finley Cann; Catherine, Matthew, and Elizabeth Held; Wyatt Connolly; and Francis and Jude Connolly.

The interment will be in the town where her husband grew up: Cherry, IL.

Funeral Mass for Dorothy will be held at 10:30 am on Monday May 6th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Visitation for Dorothy will be held from 9:30 until the time of Mass in the narthex of St. Joe's. Funeral info (847) 362-2626.
