Obituary of Robert James Krumrey

Robert James Krumrey, 95, a lifelong resident of Libertyville and a proud US Air Force veteran, passed away on August 6, 2024, at Advocate Condell Medical Center, the very hospital where he was born. After serving his country during the Korean War, Bob earned his bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Arizona State University and enjoyed a long, successful career in the communications division at Motorola.

Bob’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and cherished memories, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sharon; his children Andy, Kathleen (Kenneth) Lewis, and Julie (Kevin) Cook; his step children Kevin (Michelle) Huspen and Kim (Dave Post) Triunfol; his grandchildren Nicholas (Ellen), Danielle (Zach), Kyle, Casey, Brandon (Carrie), Kelly, and Courteney & his step-grandchildren Zach, Christian, Jordan, Kali (Tommy), and Amanda; 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Bob will be from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Wed. Aug 14^th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel with a service at 7:30 PM. Interment will be at 11:00 AM on Thurs. Aug 15^th at Lakeside Cemetery with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the Lake County Honor Flight, P.O. Box 1187 North Chicago, IL 60064 would be greatly appreciated.
