Obituary of Jeanne L. Schumacher
Jeanne L. Schumacher, 85, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024. Jeanne was formerly of Janesville, WI, and Libertyville, IL, but always cherished her childhood in Green Bay, WI, where she was raised by her parents, Emil and Genevieve Sander.
After graduating from St. Norbert's College, Jeanne embarked on a long and fulfilling teaching career. She shared her passion for literature with Green Bay, Milwaukee, and Libertyville students for many decades.
Outside of her work, Jeanne had a zest for life and adventure. As a young woman, she traveled across Europe with her girlfriend. She was an avid lifelong Green Bay Packers fan and loved spending time outdoors, especially taking walks in Northern Wisconsin. Above all, Jeanne treasured her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished watching her grandchildren grow.
Jeanne was also a woman of faith and a dedicated parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Libertyville and St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Janesville, WI. Her loving spirit and devotion to family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Jeanne is survived by her loving children David (Jen), Katie (Ryan) Carlson, and John (Lorie); her dearest grandchildren Noah, Jacob, Emma, Ellery and Jack Schumacher and Calla, Kyle and Rachel Carlson. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Jack; and her brother Jim Sander.
