Dear Mr. and Mrs. Lipp -- I wasn't fortunate enough to know your son, but I've often admired the plaque you placed in his memory at the Libertyville Little League fields. My own son is a baseball player, and the values you remember in Jack I hope my son will develop for himself. Today I saw that you have Jack's plaque nicely decorated for Christmas and in honor of his birthday. I realized that my daughter was born almost six months to the day after Jack. I wanted you to know that I stopped and honored your son and your loss. My heart aches for you. Please know that your tribute to Jack makes me realize how blessed I am for every day with my two healthy children.

We have been praying to God for a miracle to bring Jack back to us, and to give you strength to get through this horrible tragedy. Jack was so loved that we all have a hole in our hearts that will never go away. Our love doesn't change when we die, the love becomes more powerful if anything.
