Obituary of Ruth Jane Urban

Ruth Jane Urban, nee Blaha, 92, of Libertyville, passed away Feb. 14, 2015. Ruth was born in Cleveland, Ohio, had been a long time resident of Garfield, Ohio and had lived in Libertyville since 2012. She held many positions in life including bank teller, head bank teller, school aide, woman’s attendance officer, assistant librarian and being a great friend of many of the high school teachers and graduates. She considered one of her major accomplishments as being given the title of “Cookie Grandma” for her sending thousands boxes of “Love” along with her providing a helping hand and unconditional love in countless people. Survivors include her children Dr. Jeffrey Jay Urban, Scott (Christine) Urban and Karen (Gary) Glinski; her grandchildren Jennifer Rathburn, Lindsey Weiler, Melissa Ashley, Kendall Urban, Garrett Glinski, Chad Glinski and Kyle Glinski; and her 9 great-grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Henry John Urban of 66 years of marriage; her parents Joseph and Ruth Blaha and her twin brother Richard Blaha. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 pm Wed.
