Frank Ryder passed away March 6, 2015 in Libertyville. Born in Marshalltown, IA he attended college and obtained a Business degree. Frank enlisted in the Air Force on Feb 5, 1951 and retired 26 years later, as a Lt. Colonel. After retirement, he expanded his volunteer and civic activities by serving on the Board of Condell Hospital. Frank played a large role in organizing golf tournament fund raisers for the Hospital. He was active in St Lawrence Church and served as warden for several years. Frank was a member of the American Legion, the Elks Club and past President of the Libertyville Lions. Frank is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elsie; his sons Bill (fiancée Lynette) Ryder and Tom (Christine) Ryder; granddaughters Melissa and Alison Ryder along with many friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday March 11 from 5 – 7 pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place (Rt 176, 1 Block East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. Funeral Service will Thursday March 12th at 10:30 am at Saint Lawrence Episcopal Church, 125 West Church St, Libertyville. Private interment will be in the Veterans Section of Highland Memorial Park, Gurnee. Donations made the Libertyville Lions Club, 135 West Church Street, Libertyville, IL 60048 would be greatly appreciated. Funeral information (847) 362-2626.
