Obituary of Frederick Behm

Frederick Behm, 81, of Antioch, US Army, passed away September 3, 2015 at Advocate Condell. Fred was born Oct 16, 1933 in Libertyville to Edward and Mary (nee Obenauf) and was a lifelong Lake County resident. Fred dedicated 30 years to the Lake County Highway Department. He loved his motorcycle dearly and would travel the country and Canada creating lifelong friend along the way. He recently converted his motorcycle into a trike which he proudly rode into his cancer treatment. He is remembered for his strong work ethic and ability for fixing things, especially his trailers. Fred is survived by his wife Ann of 6 years of marriage; his children Patricia and Bob (Dodie); his grandchildren Nicholas (Erin), Erin, Courtney and Casey; his great-grandchild Josh; his brother Thomas (Bonnie) Behm and the Kakacek and Dickson family. Fred is preceded in death by his first wife Barbara (Steffenhagen) who passed away in 1991. Visitation for Fred will be held Thursday September 10th from 4 – 8 pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place (Rt 176, 1 Block East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday Sept. 11th at 9:30 am at St. Mary of the Annunciation (Old Church), 22333 W Erhart Rd, Mundelein, IL 60060. Reception to follow at the New Church.
