Obituary of Pranas Nagys

Pranas Naguis (Nagys) was born inMazeikiai, Lithuania on March 11, 1943. He resided in Kaunas, Lithuania until he and his family moved to Waukegan, IL in 1990. Pranas left this world on January 31, 2016 and moved on to the next with no pain or suffering. He leaves behind a wife of 39 years, Jolanta; two sons, Norbertas and Arnoldas; a brother, Eugenijus; a sister, Adona; two daughters-in-law, Lauren and Margaret, and many other close family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Zofija and father, Pranas. Pranas held a Ph.D. in Technical Sciencefrom Kaunas Electronics Measuring Technics Scientific Research Institute and was an Associate Professor and taught Advanced Mathematics for many years. He was an avid traveler, reader and explorer in every sense. During his 72 years on this earth, he had the opportunity to see and experience things that many couldn't dream of. He was especially fond of sharing his stories about his visit to the Ancient Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. He was a humble and honest man, as well as a loving and incredibly dedicated husband and father. Pranas was a family man who worked his whole life to provide for his family and make sure that they lived life to the fullest. He is and will forever be an extraordinary person; loved and missed by so many. Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation taking place at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, Ltd., 101 Park Place (Route 176, one block east of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville, IL on Friday, February 5th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will take place in the new chapel at St. Patrick Parish, 15000 W. Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth, IL on Saturday February 6th at 9:30 AM. The mass will be preceded by a luncheon in the Historic Chapel on St. Patrick's premises. Directly following the luncheon, Pranas will be laid to rest at Ascension Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums in Libertyville, IL. Funeral information, 847-362-2626.
