George Madden, 97, of Libertyville, US Army, passed away February 15, 2016 at his residence in Libertyville. George was born in 1918 in Mundelein and graduated from St. Joseph School in Libertyville. He devoted his career to the telephone company and is remembered for being the first to perform home restoration in the Frank Lloyd Wright neighborhood at his home on 2nd Street. He was a lifelong member of St. Joseph and Santa Maria Del Popolo Parishes. George is survived by his sons Thomas Madden of Phoenix, AZ and Tim Madden of Ridgewood, NJ; grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 2. He is preceded in death by his parents James and Mary; his beloved wife of 57 years Katie; brother Rev. James and sisters Rosemary and Anita. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Thursday February 18 at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place (Rt 176, 1 Block East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be 10 am Friday February 19 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
