Rita Gorman, 85, of Libertyville, passed away peacefully at her home March 4, 2016. Rita moved to Libertyville in 1958 and had been a St. Joseph’s Parishioner since. She was a former Home Economics teacher at Libertyville High School. Rita was devoted to her faith belonging to the Guild of the Blessed Mary and a volunteer with the bereavement luncheon group at St. Joseph Parish. She was a lover of animals but her greatest passion in life was her family.
Rita is survived by her husband James of 61 years; her children Patty (Rob) Hahn, Mike, Kevin (Pat), Colleen (Dan) Shannon, and Mary (John) Nannenhorn; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass for Rita will be held 10 am Friday Mar. 11 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville where the family will receive friends 30 minutes before Mass. Private Interment Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Humane Society at www.humanesociety.org.
