It's been a long time since graduating from Saint Viator, but I have fond memories of Strez - one of THE greatest teachers I have ever had. He made every student feel good about themselves regardless of academic strengths. Class was always something to look forward to and it takes someone special to hold the attention of 30 or so antsy teenage boys. ...and he did it year after year after year. What an outstanding guy! Everyone loved Strez!!!

"Strez".....always enjoyed your classes back in the day in the 1980's, and am saddened at your passing. God be with you always...and may your Soul be in His care for all eternity.

"Samobeech godammiiit and What will I say to all the girls at I-HOP." It's going to be hard to go to I-HOP without you, Bob. Who will crack the jokes and who will laugh at all the silly stuff we say? I am going to miss you man, Samobeech goddammiiit.

I had "Strez" as a homeroom teacher at Viator. He was witty & funny which was a great combination. I have fond memories of my years at Viator of him and a nickname that he gave me and stuck. He will be greatly missed and thinking of your family at this time.

I taught with Strez at St Viator from 1997-2006. He was a cross between Walter Mathau and Kremer from Seinfeld. His quick wit and sense of humour welcomed me from Australia and his "G'day Mate" greeting to me every day will aways be remembered. I never left the company of Strez without a big smile and feeling good about being with him. Bob had that remarkable talent to help others feel good about themselves while being in his company. 41 years dedicated to the student at St Viator is truly something to admire in an age where people look to change jobs often. Only Mahoney challenged the longevity of Bob at the house of the Lions. I will remember an inquisitive man eager to soak up the lessons of history, eager to ask questions about other cultures and eager to never give up on his beloved Cubs. Like the World Series of 2016 you will always be remembered Strez. RIP old mate. #alwaysalion

Sue and I are saddened to learn of Bob's death. He was a wonderful man with whom I spent many enjoyable moments. He cared deeply for those around him, and was always willing to aid those in need. He is a true legend at Saint Viator; he is the teacher that is always remembered by each student blessed to to sit in his class. He helped made work a place of happiness. Bob was the man to see if one was having a bad day; he would raise ones spirit and kindle a sense of hope with his warmth and humor. My thoughts and prayers are with Mary, Mike and Jim and the rest of Bob's family.
