Dear Donna,
I heard from April about the passing of Emily. Michael and I are both shocked and saddened to hear the news. We send our thoughts and prayers for you and your family at this time and for the future. She lite up the room when she walked in with her smile when she was around St. Joe's. She is resting peacefully in God's arms and with her Dad at her side. It’s been a few days now since I heard the news of Emily’s passing and it’s only just beginning to feel real. My deepest condolences to Donna, Amy and Greg, Jen and Jim, Molly, Jake, Bobby, Luke and Dottie. Emily was truly one of the best of us. So smart, so funny, so clever, so honest, so generous, so beautiful --- inside and out. She had a heart bigger than this world. I’ve been fortunate enough to spend many holidays over the years with Emily and her wonderful family and always hoped I’d be lucky enough to get a seat at the table right next to Em, so I wouldn’t miss a moment of the comedy that ensued. Emily was a genius with sarcasm that would keep you laughing for hours.
I’m so grateful to Emily and the rest of this family for being so welcoming and so accepting. Emily loved big – if you were Emily’s ‘friend’; you were her family. There were no half measures or lukewarm feelings – Emily didn’t just ‘like’ you; Emily loved you. As much as there will be an empty place in all of our hearts, I’ll do my best to fill it with all the memories we’ve shared over the years and remember how grateful I am to have had her in my life for as long as I did. We love you, Emily. And we miss you so much already. Rest in peace, my beautiful friend.

To a family I love as my very own, I am so heartbroken for your loss. Emily is a beautiful spirit who brought so much joy to the world and love to your family.
