Obituary of Marilyn McCluskey

Marilyn McCluskey, 88, of Vernon Hills, IL, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2017.  She was born Mary Ellen Weber on March 23, 1929 to Joseph and Mae Weber of Chicago, Illinois.  In 1954 she was united in marriage to her husband Gene who passed before her in 1994.  Marilyn was a long-term employee of AT&T, an avid crafter and gardener. Marilyn’s focus in life was her faith and family. She and Gene were blessed with many children who brought many loving spouses and grandchildren. 

Marilyn is survived by her children Mary Ellen Marra (Nick), Gene McCluskey (Maryellen), Kathy Eggert (Rick), Pat McCluskey, Terri King (Bob), Joe McCluskey (Joanne) and Gerry McCluskey (Robyn).  She has 12 grandchildren including Ellen Marra (Phil Romei), Rick Eggert, Patty Marra  (Nick Moeller), Tim Marra, Jennifer Eggert, Michael McCluskey, Bobby King, Megan King, Emily McCluskey, Sarah McCluskey, Erin McCluskey and Ryan McCluskey.  She was a loving aunt to many and is preceded in death by her sister Pat Parrilli (Chris) and brother Joe Weber (Mary Clare). 

The Visitation will be from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday, September 22, 2017 at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, IL 60048.  A Funeral Service celebrating Marilyn’s life will be on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Raymond de Penafort Catholic Church (corner of Elmhurst Avenue and Lincoln Avenue), Mt Prospect, Illinois 60056.  There will be a short visitation from 8:30am until 9:30am prior to the Mass which will begin at 9:30am.  Marilyn will be interred at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.  In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Alzheimer’s Association.
