Obituary of Robert M. Waddick

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert “Bob” M. Waddick, 57, of Libertyville passed away on January 7, 2020 after suffering a heart attack. He was born on October 26, 1962 and grew up in Evergreen Park, Illinois. He earned a business degree from Marquette University and an MBA from DePaul University. Bob was married to Lynda Waddick for 26 years, and together they had two daughters: Annalisa and Emily. They were the light of his life and he cherished every moment he spent with them. Bob loved every aspect of banking, and his career lasted over 40 years. At age 16, he began working for Evergreen National Bank as a teller. He loved the challenge of learning new positions within the bank. After college, he began his career in Chicago with Continental Bank as a Trust Officer and held that position for nearly 10 years. In 1994 he moved to J.P. Morgan Chase as Vice President of Asset Management Retirement Plan service and sales. There, he managed defined benefit plans and 401k plans for mid-sized companies around the United States. 2020 marked his 26th anniversary with the company, and he was extremely proud of his work. In his spare time, Bob loved to travel. Every year, he planned an incredible family vacation with an itinerary booked down to the minute. His favorite destinations were Mohonk Mountain House in New York, Hawaii (the site of his honeymoon), and above all, Disney World and Disneyland. He was truly a kid at heart, and was an avid Disney fan all his life. He also harbored a love for Six Flags, and for years his Sundays were spent walking a loop around the park with Annalisa and Emily. The only thing that Bob loved more than Disney was Lambs Farm, a residential community for developmentally disabled adults in Libertyville. He could (and would!) talk about Lambs Farm for hours, and greatly looked forward to the holiday brunches where he would volunteer. Lambs Farm was truly his greatest passion, and he intended to spend countless hours volunteering there when he retired. At his core, Bob was a family man, and loved all of his family members wholeheartedly. Uncle “Bobby” as he was known to some, was kind, talkative, and supportive, and took great pride in every accomplishment of his daughters, nieces, and nephews. Bob is survived by his wife Lynda Waddick, daughters Annalisa and Emily Waddick, mother Delphine Waddick, and sister Laura (Allen) Gerber. He is also survived by his aunt Casmera Staszak, cousins Gerard and Stanley John (Michelle) Staszak, in laws Nancy (friend Jim Blake) Hipp, Laurie (George) Czechowski, Lisa (Mike) Armes, Larry (Dawn) Hipp, and Steven (Shannon Hawley) Hipp. Additionally, he will be missed by nieces and nephews Annagrace, Luke, Alana, and Rory Gerber, Max and Mark Czechowski, Madelyn and Thomas Armes, Forest, Colton, and Grayson Hipp, Charlie and Holly Hipp, and his dog Honey. Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents Stanley and Sophia Staszak, his uncle Stanley Staszak, and his father-in-law William Hipp. Visitation will be held Friday, January 17 from 4-8 pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, IL. Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday, January 18 at 10 am, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E Maple Ave, Libertyville, IL.
