Obituary of Raymond S. LaRocca
Please share a memory of Raymond to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Raymond S. LaRocca, 99, of Vernon Hills Illinois, US Army, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2020, the sixty-sixth anniversary of his wedding. He was born and raised on the west side of Chicago, spending most of his life in the house he built on the northwest side of Chicago. After retiring from the carpenter’s trade, he was known to many school kids as “Mr. Ray” as he drove them to school. He is remembered for dancing the night away with his wife Anne Grace, with moves only the two of them knew. He always had a joke to tell, even if it was the same one for thirty years. He is loved and will be missed.
Ray is survived by his loving family - children Patricia (Thomas), JoAnne (William), and Jack (Kathy); his grandchildren, Jason (Rory), Meagan (Michael), Matthew, and Wyatt; great-grandchildren Ryan, Quinn, Annie Grace, and Patrick; and sister-in-law Eleanor. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anne Grace, and his parents, brother and sister.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21st at St. Mary of Vernon, 236 US-45, Indian Creek, IL 60061, with the funeral mass beginning at 11:00 a.m
