My sincere condolences to Steven’s family. Steven was a good person who was beloved by his coworkers and a customer favorite at Starbucks. He could make the grumpiest pre-coffee person smile.

We are saddened to learn of Steven’s passing. Steven was our next door neighbor in Libertyville and, we remember his kind and friendly spirit as he shot basketball hoops on his driveway. He was a wonderful person who loved his family. We will remember him fondly.
Our sympathy and thoughts are with the Gissing family.

I knew Steven and his sister from spending Christmas with family and friends at his grandparents house- Jim and Esther Gissing. It was wonderful watching them grow up. He was always very friendly towards me and I enjoyed being around him. He will be loved and missed.

I remember very fondly meeting Steven in highschool, while working at the Liberty Theatre. Sweet, kind, funny, genuine... He instantly fit in. We had a lot of fun and many laughs at that old movie theater.
Fast forward a few years and I ran into Steven in downtown Libertyville shortly after the birth of my first son. Steven was exactly the same in his congratulations... Sweet, kind, funny, genuine.
That is just how I'll always remember him.
My deepest thoughts and prayers to the entire family.
