Pablo Dones was born on January 25, 1932, in Juncos, Puerto Rico to Clara and Julio. He passed away June 8, 2020, in Orlando, Florida at the age of 88.
Pablo was 1 of 11 children. At the age of 16 he and his family moved to New York City. Pablo served in the US Army during the Korean War era. He met his wife Frances (deceased) in grade school in Puerto Rico. They were married in 1953. They had four children; Margie, Paul, Edgar, and Walter. He was an avid fan of boxing and baseball. His favorite team was the New York Mets. Pablo worked his whole career at the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and retired in 1997. After he retired, he moved to Florida and bought a horse named Red that he took great pride in. He was an active member of Es La Hora Ministries Church.
Pablo was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend. He leaves behind his four children; Margie, Paul (Renee), Edgar (Charlene), and Walter (Zoe), 12 grandchildren (William Sr., Adam, Kyle, Kelly, Kara, Ryan, Jaclyn, Brandon, Rachel, Amanda, Caleb, and Chloe), 4 great-grandchildren (William Jr., Josh, Alex, Olivia), and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Pablo’s celebration of life will take place at McMurrough Funeral Home in Libertyville, IL on Saturday, June 13, 2020, from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm. He will be buried alongside his wife at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
