Mary Pipas (nee Mochko) passed away peacefully on February 11th at the age of 99. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 15th, 1921. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years. Bill, a devoted family man, passed away in 2018 at the age of 98. Three weeks shy of his 99th birthday. Mary and Bill raised their four children in Avon, Ohio, a town they loved and lived in for 53 years. They moved to Vernon Hills, IL in 2008. Mary took great pleasure in collecting antiques and opened the first antique store in Avon called “Past and Present.” She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain. She enjoyed tending to her flowers in their yard. She loved her family and had many friends.
Mary is survived by her four children: Charleen Pape (John) of Mundelein, IL., Dell of Largo, FL., Celeste McClaran (Mike) of Columbus, OH., and Mark (Nancy Horwedel) of Mundelein, IL. Three grandchildren: Darrin Pape (Wendy), Debra Bell (Pape), and Melissa McClaran (Steve). Three great-grandchildren: Brandon Pape (Calley), Sydney Bell, and Henry McClaran. Two great-great-grandchildren Brooks Pape and Charlotte Pape. Bill and Mary were members of St. Mary Magdalene Byzantine Catholic Church, Fairview Park, Ohio.
