Obituary of Frank R. Fitzgerald

Frank R. Fitzgerald, 82, of Libertyville, passed away peacefully June 28, 2021 with his family by his side. Frank was born in Oak Park, Illinois, to Dorothy (Mills) Fitzgerald and Frank T. Fitzgerald and was a proud graduate of Fenwick high school, received his Bachelor’s degree at Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, IN and his Master’s degree from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL. Frank dedicated 30 years to Abbott Laboratories retiring as Director of hospital products. Frank is remembered as a wonderful family man, counselor, good listener, and would always be happy to assist with any house repair project. He was a generous man, dedicated to seeing things through and was a constant supporter of his children. He was a fine man, husband, father and grandfather; we will dearly miss him.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Barbara, his loving children Frank E. (Kari), Patrick (Jennifer), Jim and Maureen (Dave) Collier; his cherished grandchildren Ellie, Amelia, Emma, Joe, Charlie, Paige, Ben and Graham, his dearest siblings Kathleen (Ray), Paul (Chrissy) and John (Wendy) and many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his brother Michael.

Visitation for Frank will be from 4:00-8:00pm on Monday July 5th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville.
