Please share a memory of Gerrie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Geraldine (Gerrie) Neville, 83, passed away Aug 21, 2021 at  Warren Barr, Lincolnshire, Il. Gerrie was born in Chicago and grew up in the Chicago area.  She married Charles Neville in 1955.  They had 5 children and moved to Libertyville in the early 1960’s.  While raising the 5 children she volunteered at St. Joe’s in Libertyville, at both the school and church. She was a member of the St. Joe’s Guild.  She became a Girl Scout leader for her daughters before going to work at Condell Medical

Center in 1971.  She worked at Condell for 10+ years. Went to work at Lake Forest Hospital and retired from Condell Radiation Center around 2003.Though she retired she returned to working part-time for Home-Instead and Visiting Angels, caring for home-bound people.

Truly retired in 2012 due to limitations from Parkinsons.  She went onto enjoy many happy times with her family and friends. Playing canasta and going places with friends.  Treating each of her grandchildren to their own special day when it was their birthday. She loved to go walking at Lake Geneva and Independence Grove. Even when her Parkinson's got worse she continued to do multiple walks a day in her neighborhood with her walker. In her final days at Warren Barr that had trouble keeping track of her since she was always wandering around the campus. She was greatly loved and adored by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughter.  In short, she was loved by everyone she touched.

She is survived by children Debbie(Carl) Drake,  Kathy Neville, Kevin (Jan) Neville, Darlene (Kent) Yandell and Arlene (Dave) Rose, 13 grandchildren - Rachel (Donato Hernandez), Stephanie, Tony (Farrell) Drake, Travis, Carly (Daniel Murphy) & Corbin Neville, Jack (Marina), Laine, Claire, & Scott Yandell, and Eric (Danielle), Haley & Andrew Rose, Ten great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, sister in law Peggy Hojem and her sons
