Obituary of Donald Kraemer

Donald Kraemer, 87, US Navy, longtime Libertyville resident, passed away Oct. 28, 2021. Don was born in Chicago and moved to Libertyville where his parents operated Libertyville’s Richard’s Lunchroom restaurant. He graduated from St. Joseph school class of 1948 and Libertyville High School class of 1952. After serving the US Navy, Don devoted 30 years as a civil servant at Great Lakes Navy Base and Fort Sheridan. He is remembered for his passions outdoors as a semi-professional bass fisherman, his prize tomato garden or hunting with his closest friends.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Rose Ann (nee Beelow); his cherished children Robert (Anna) and Bryan (Janna); his adoring grandchildren Ryan (Ana), Lauren, Anna, Anthony and his dearest 2 great-grandchildren Kyrie and Lily. He is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Regina and his brother Richard (the late Diane).

Visitation for Don will be held Thursday Nov. 4th from 4:00-7:00pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Funeral Services will be held Friday Nov. 5th at 10:30am at McMurrough Funeral Chapel followed by interment at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.
