Obituary of Bridget Esler McClintock
Bridget Esler McClintock (nee Johnston) passed away Saturday May 28, 2022, one day shy of her 99th birthday. Bridget was born in Ballymena, Northern Ireland and came to the U.S.A. in 1954. She lived many years in Chicago before moving to Libertyville in 1984.
Bridget is survived by her daughter Geraldine (Rich) Dobey, son James Esler, stepdaughter Susan (Curtis) Perry, her brother Paddy Johnston, nieces and nephews, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bridget was preceded in death by her first husband Sean Anthony Esler (1965) and by her second husband Earl McClintock (1988), also by her father James Johnston (1937), mother Catherine Johnston (nee O’Kane)(1955), and by sisters Alice, Mary, Kathleen, and Eileen, daughter-in-law Jane Frances Esler (nee Glennon) (2006) and stepdaughter Sally Perry (nee McClintock) (1985). Bridget was a devoted Catholic, avid knitter, active member of the Libertyville Senior Citizen community, and cherished her regular Sunday outings with her daughter Geri. The two could often be found shopping, lunching, or visiting friends and family on their weekend adventures.
Visitation will be from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M Saturday, June 11th at McMurrough Funeral Chapel in Libertyville with service to follow. A private burial will take place at Ascension Cemetery at 12 P.M.
