Obituary of Beatrice R. Mason

Beatrice R. Mason, 92, a former 14 year resident of Libertyville and formerly of Palatine, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born October 7, 1929 in Chicago, grew up in Oak Park and was a graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School. She later attended the University of Kentucky. In 1957 she had a blind date with Douglas and a year later they were married. From that point onward she dedicated her life to her family. She was sweet and loving but make no mistake she was also fiercely protective of her boys. She held a high moral standard and choose to do things the right way in life. She was respectful of everyone and was an amazing role model to those around her.

Beatrice is survived by her two sons, Richard Mason of Grayslake and David (Margaret) Mason of Boston, MA; a granddaughter, Helene Mason; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas of nearly 50 years; and her siblings Leon Black and Louis Block.

Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:30 am on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m.at the funeral home. Entombment at Ascension Cemetery. Funeral info (847) 362-2626
