Obituary of Mark Bonadonna
Mark "Curly" Bonadonna died peacefully at home on 7/18/2022. Survivors include his wife Leslie Spears, stepchildren Brynn and Andrew Hogan, nephew Joseph Bonadonna and many more loving relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Arline and his brother Mike.
Curly grew up working in the family business at Bon-A-Don Custom Fishing Shop until it closed in 1987. He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Vernon Fire Department. As a magician he dazzled guests at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. He drove many miles selling sporting goods in Illinois and Wisconsin before transitioning to a 19 year position with Nextel/Sprint. This also involved plenty of driving but he didn't mind since it allowed him time to think. He had a knack for recognizing pitfalls, problem-solving and developing systems. Curly continued to "work smarter, not harder" at Pauly Toyota until his death.
Corvettes were a lifelong passion. He never failed to execute a crisp wave to fellow Corvette owners. Curly was an unofficial ambassador for all things Harley Davidson and was often spotted at Menards helping people Save Big Money. His fondness for music, sports and good food was only rivaled by his fondness for electronics, tools and gadgets. Curly loved animals and animals loved him. He took great pride in his close relationship with Brynn and Andrew, cheering their accomplishments and good character. His parenting skills are still displayed on an index card labeled 'Dishwashing Steps' taped inside a kitchen cabinet.
Even without duplicates his list of positive qualities is a mile long. His list of friends is even longer. He believed in being a good neighbor. Curly was a blessing to many. Most of all to his wife whom he showered with unconditional love, acceptance and a deep understanding of what makes her tick.
What a shame his life and this obituary can't go on forever!!
