Obituary of Sarah Metz-Raasch

Sarah M. Metz-Raasch, 44, of Vernon Hills, passed away December 26, 2022 after a 20+ year-long courageous health battle. She is remembered for her love of shopping and finding the perfect treasures. She loved having meals with her family, especially her favorite pasta dishes. Sarah enjoyed watching movies and had a particular fondness for scary movies. She loved traveling to Florida, taking in the sunshine at the pool, and taking her children to Disney. Sarah had a fantastic collection of owls and enjoyed painting them with intricate designs. She shared her passions of music, dancing and singing with those around her. Above all Sarah was an amazing mom, we lost our Wonder Woman.

Sarah is survived by her loving children Haley and Ava; her adoring grandchildren Zayaus, Giovanni, and Lilianna and her dearest mom Marybeth Kavanagh.

A Celebration of Sarah’s Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday Jan. 2^nd at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Pl, Libertyville where the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service. Interment to follow at Willow Lawn Cemetery, Vernon Hills. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to her family would be greatly appreciated. Funeral info (847) 362-2626.
