Obituary of Carmelita Carlson

Carmelita "Carmie" Carlson, R.N. of Grayslake Carmelita "Carmie" Carlson, R.N., 87, formerly of Libertyville, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, in Lake Forest Hospital. Carmie was born Oct. 25, 1924, in Chicago, and had been a resident of Libertyville since 1964. She was active in the Libertyville Civic Center, played in the Kitchen Klinkers and served as a volunteer for various organizations including Catholic Charities. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bud Carlson; her daughter, Donna Spradlin; her grandson, Ron Thompson; her great-grandson, Ron; and her stepchildren, Ron Carlson, Robert Carlson, Mary Jo (Jim) Marshall and Jerry Carlson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville. Entombment will be in Ascension Mausoleum, Libertyville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the funeral chapel. If desired, memorial donations to the American Health Association would be greatly appreciated.
