Obituary of Kathleen Lois Boe
Kathleen Lois Boe, age 6,of Libertyville, passed away on Saturday Jan 28th 2023 after a courageous lifelong battle with a rare metabolic disorder known as CPT2.
Kathleen was born to parents Leon and Nora Boe in Tampa FL, on Oct 26, 2016.
She overcame many obstacles in life and constantly defied the odds.
Kathleen’s future was uncertain, but with the constant loving support from her parents, grandparents, extended family, numerous doctors, nurses, therapists, and teachers, she was able to thrive in this world.
Kathleen spread love and pure joy to all she met—always greeting with a smile, hello and a hug. She enjoyed singing, The Wiggles, all things Elmo, horse therapy, friends' birthday parties, riding her adaptive bike, walking up and down Burdick street, running back and forth in the back of church, swimming, soccer practice and most recently her first ballet class last week.
Kathleen loved playing with her “Sissy” Caroline and little brother Charlie. Kathleen couldn’t leave the house to catch her bus without hugging and kissing her brother and sister over and over. At bedtime, she always made sure the whole family had a group hug.
Kathleen loved walking next door to Lolo and Papa’s house to say hello and for big hugs. She always requested a nightly FaceTime with Gammy and Gramps in Tampa and enjoyed Gammy’s singing. Kathleen had a giant presence at home, school, church, the park, and anywhere she went. She loved school and touched the lives of many teachers, therapists, and kids in her special Ed and Gen Ed classes.
Kathleen is survived by her ever-loving parents, Leon and Nora, her sister Caroline and her brother Charlie.
Grandparents Bill and Lois Graham “Papa Lolo”, Caire and Emma Boe “Gammy Gramps”. 18 aunts and uncles and 36 first cousins. She was one of 102 great-grandchildren on her mother's Graham side.
A visitation will be held at McMurrough Funeral Chapel on Thursday, Feb 2, from 4-8 p.m. at 101 Park Pl, Libertyville. Her celebration of life will be Friday, Feb 3 at 10:30 am St. Joseph Church, 121 E Maple Ave. Libertyville.
