Obituary of Julianne Metzger Pykelny
Julianne Metzger Pykelny of Libertyville passed away on Friday, February 17th at the age of 68 following a courageous battle with cancer. Since moving to Libertyville in 1980, Julianne worked or volunteered in support of the great causes at Lambs, Inc, the American Cancer Society and Lake Forest College while raising her two children. She was a proud alumnus of Susquehanna University and the University of Pittsburgh, where she made many life-long friends that have remained dear to her over the years. Friends and members of the community remember her as friendly and warm with a welcoming personality that allowed her to chat with just about anyone!
Julianne is preceded in death by her mother, father and brother, Marilyn, John “Jack” and J. Robert Metzger. She is survived by her dedicated husband of 37 years, Alan Pykelny, beloved daughter and son-in-law, Marlie Pykelny and Derek Lamorgese, beloved son, daughter-in-law and grandson, Ross, Melissa and Nolan Pykelny, as well as her extended family and many close friends.
Services will be held on Friday, March 3rd at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville. Visitation from 11am-1pm will be immediately followed by a funeral service celebrating Julianne’s life at 1pm at the same location.
