Obituary of Diane Sherer Tucker
Diane (Di) Sherer Tucker peacefully passed away in her sleep on April 20th at the age of 80 years old. She was a free spirit, a prolific artist, and a fiercely devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.
Di inherited passion for dance from her mother with whom she was close her whole life. At Bennington College, Di flourished in the dance department where she choreographed many dances and completed a Bachelors in dance. She then frequently danced as part of formal church services, most often at the Lake Forest Catholic Church. She taught ballroom, Tai Chi, ballet, modern, and liturgical dance to many students.
Later in life, Di choreographed and acted in community theater. She excelled in comedic roles and was a clown. Di also wrote and illustrated several children’s books. One of her plays was produced by the local Arts Council and widely enjoyed by the community.
Di was a holy woman with a close relationship to God which gave her strength and resolve. Her faith was clear to others in her selfless spirit. She loved praying the rosary.
Di was a force of nature, and she marched—but more often danced—to the beat of her own drum. She was dearly beloved to many. She is survived by her husband Tommy of 55 years, sister Jeremy, brother Austin, brother Renslow, son Matt, daughter-in-law Jenny, son Joseph, daughter-in-law Xiaoxi, daughter Bonnie, son-in-law Scott, and six grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls.
A Funeral Service for Di will take place at 10a.m., April 27, 2023, at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, IL. Interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, 600 Lake St., Libertyville, IL 60048. Please sign Diane's guestbook at www.libertyvillefuneralhome.com.
