Obituary of Veronica L. McCormick

Veronica L. “Ronnie” McCormick nee Spatz of Vernon Hills, IL, formerly of Venice, Fl and Lake Geneva WI, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children in Libertyville, IL, on April 27, 2023. Ronnie was born in Chicago, IL on November 25,1930, the daughter of the late Ellis and Marie Spatz. She graduated in 1949 from Visitation High School in Chicago. Ronnie married John W. “Jack” McCormick Sr. on January 23, 1954 in Chicago, IL and had four children. She was a longtime volunteer at St. Mark’s Devine Consign. Ronnie was a lifetime homemaker dedicated to her children and family, and a longtime parishioner at Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, Fl. Ronnie loved crafting, sewing, ceramics, knitting, and making jewelry. Ronnie is survived by her four children Kathy (Denny) Moller, Karen (James) Streu, Jack McCormick (partner Terri Calandrillo), Janet (Scott) Richards, 13 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. Loving sister of the late Charles (Gerry) Spatz, the late Lawrence (Grace) Spatz, the late Anne Reidy, the late John (Therese) Spatz, the late Eleanor (Glenn) Lawson, the late Pat (Hugh “Ed”) Cunningham, the late Rita Spatz, the late Gerald Spatz, and the late George Spatz. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband John W. “Jack” McCormick Sr.

A Memorial Visitation for Ronnie will take place Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 9a.m.-10:15a.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, IL, 60048. Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Avenue, Libertyville, IL, 60048. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Epiphany Cathedral School, 316 Sarasota Street, Venice, FL, 34285, would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements by McMurrough Chapel.
