Obituary of Kevin T. Holmberg

On May 31st 2023, Kevin Thomas Holmberg (Berg), a husband, soon to be father, a son, a brother, an uncle died in a tragic event at age 38.

Kevin was born June 26th, 1984 in Chicago, Illinois. Kevin attended Copeland Middle School, Highland Junior High, finally graduating from Libertyville High School in 2003.  He continued his education by heading to the desert and attending Arizona State University graduating in 2007.  After college he moved to California before returning back to the State he loved, Arizona.  He resided in Arizona until his untimely death.

Kevin was an avid hockey player, starting his hockey career playing pond hockey and continuing his love for hockey throughout his life.  From the Glenview Stars to Libertyville High School games, pickup games to the yearly hockey tournament in Las Vegas, Kevin was an all-star on Ice.

Kevin’s love for the Chicago Blackhawks and his love for attending their games, from the United Center to seeing them play in the desert against the Yotes, his love for hockey will never be matched.

Kevin also enjoyed video gaming to the fullest.

He leaves behind his mother, Kathleen Holmberg, his brother, Brian, and his niece Mya.

He was preceded in death, by his father, Charles Holmberg, both grandparents, Edward and Shirley Holmberg, Thomas and Edith Cavanaugh, his wife, Katherine, and unborn child Molly.  Along with his beloved childhood pet, Tigger.
