Obituary of Tyler James Layne
Libertyville, IL: Tyler James Layne, 31, beloved son of Christina Buscemi-Layne and David K. Layne passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 due to complications following his release from the hospital Tuesday.
Tyler was a bright and generous soul, full of life and love for his family. He had an incredibly special irreplaceable bond with his mother, Christina. Tyler maintained close personal relationships with his sister, Steffani, and each one of his family members. Tyler would go out of his way to help anyone in need & always made friends quickly and easily. He was especially fond of all of life’s furry friends. He also enjoyed making people laugh and had a fantastic sense of humor.
Tyler had many hobbies, many of which began while spending time with his grandparents as a child. He and his grandfather shared several interests which starting with collecting model trains from a young age. Having grown up around boats, starting with his father’s boat and then his Oregon family’s boats , Tyler was thrilled when his grandparents here bought their first boat. The whole family then spent many years boating, swimming at the St. Joseph Yacht Club, and of course, fishing together.
Tyler loved sports and was on football & basketball teams while growing up, nicknamed “crazy legs” with his parents cheering him on from the stands and often times his Dad was the Coach. Tyler hung up his jersey when he discovered his new passion for skateboarding. Tyler had many talents and was an excellent, meticulous Chef and enjoyed carrying out the family traditions during the holidays. Tyler always dressed to impress and with his love of shoes, hats, clothes, & watches he maintained quite the collection, rivaled only by his love of electronics because he always had to have his music.
Tyler loved his daughter, Bella Jane Sims immensely and her mother Laura Sims as well. Tyler had planned on moving back to South Carolina to be all together again by Bella’s golden birthday, December 6th 2023.
Tyler is survived by his daughter Bella (5) , his mother Christina, his father David (Malgosia), his sister Steffani (Tim) & nephew Noah (2), his brother Branden, his respective grandmothers, Elizabeth Buscemi & Vickie Layne, his aunts, Alissa (Scott) and Marisa (Mike), & cousins Brittany, Madison, and Mackenzie and his uncles Darren (Donna) and Chad & cousin Brennen, and numerous other family and friends.
Tyler was very much in tune with God and his own spirituality. While we are shocked and devastated by his loss, He was called Home. He will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed, May he Rest in Eternal Peace with God Our Father in Everlasting Life.
